WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT'S
NEW QUICK RESPONSE SERVICE (QRS)
IN MEMORY OF JASON (JAKE) HOFFMAN
50 year old Jake Hoffman was the son of Verna and Leonard (Sonny) Hoffman. He was the husband of Dianne (Jones) Hoffman and the father of Jacob and Julia Hoffman & Alex and Ava Bilunka. Graduating in 1992 from North Clarion High School, Jake was proud to be a lifetime member of the community and Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department.
Jake joined the Fire Department at the age of 14 and spent his life dedicating his time to mentor, train and be a brother to all firefighters he encountered. Raising money, writing grants and improving the WTVFD was one of his greatest accomplishments as well as serving as Fire Chief for many years. His life was abundant helping others. Jake designed a bed for the safety of the patients and it was sold to psychiatric hospitals country wide while he served as the Director of Plant Operations at Clarion Psychiatric Hospital .
Saddened by the untimely death of our community member The MAYFEST Community Association felt it was only proper to continue Jake's legacy and have our 5k in Jakes memory donating the proceeds to the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department's newest endeavor of creating a Quick Response Service (QRS) in our area that would meet the patients needs until an ambulance arrived on scene.
