Dick Kapp
George "Dick" Kapp was born and raised in the Venus/Fryburg area. He graduated from Shippenville school and after graduation joined the Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. Dick married Ruth Ehrhart in 1956. They had 2 children, Jeff and Brade. Dick worked for many years at National Fuel Gas where he later retired. He was also a farmer and drove school bus. He enjoyed spending time with his family as well as hunting and fishing with family and friends. He and Ruth were both active members of Faith Lutheran Church where he taught Sunday school and served as an Assisting Minister. Dick passed away from Alzheimer's disease on New Year's Day 2013. His family now works to raise money for the Alzheimer's association to help other families dealing with this disease
