WENDELL SCHWAB
 
One of the area's unsung Hereos... a Farmer

Wendell E Schwab was born on January 6th, 1930.  He has lived his entire life on the family farm in  Venus.

After graduating from Shippenville High School, he proudly served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War.

He and his wife Dottie were Blessed with 6 children.

Wendell drove coal truck in his earlier years then became a full time dairy farmer.  He hauled cattle to the auction until he retired at age 90.

Wendell has restored many old tractors . He is currently working on a 1930 Allis Chalmers.  Many have seen him pulling  his 1937 John Deere "Johnathon" at Wolf's Corners or driving it in the MAYFEST parade, where he has  received trophies .

Known for always having a smile on his face, Wendell remains in his family home which he shares with his Son Jeff, granddaughter and 4 of his  great grandchildren.

Wendell is a loving  Papa to 10 Grandchildren and Great Papa to 15 soon to be 16.  He considers himself to be richly blessed with the life God has given him

          Featuring :
Misty Lane Farms Performance Horses will be leading the 2022 parade with their team of  Percheron Team  honoring the fallen soldiers with their horse drawn hearse and will carry our veterans in their white carriage.  

 

                          REGISTRATION

Registration will take place the day of the parade at 1:15 pm on Saturday May 28, 2022
To register please report to the beginning of the OLD FRYBURG ROAD Off of ROUTE 157.

RULES

 

* ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18 IS REQUIRED TO WEAR HELMETS ON HORSEBACK, FOUR WHEELERS, MOTORCYCLES AND BICYCLES.  

 

* IF YOUR ENTRY WOULD LIKE TO HAND OUT CANDY WE ARE REQUIRING THAT YOU "HAND" THE CANDY OUT WHILE WALKING AND NOT THROW IT FROM YOUR ENTRY.

~THIS IS FOR THE SAFETY OF THE SPECTATORS

*ABSOLUTELY NO DRUGS, ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES     OR VULGAR LANGUAGE PERMITTED IN THE PARADE LINE UP OR PARADE ROUTE! 
No one under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be able to participate in the parade and will be BANNED from future parades!
